Monday at the beach

We enjoyed a day which began with waffles and the Today show followed by a trip to Walmart for sunglasses and a diving mask and fins, followed by an afternoon of snorkeling at Makena Beach on the South side of the island. My first venture over the coral and I was greeted by several fish and two six foot gar looking fish (very long and thin). I loved it. Calum also found this exploration of the bottom of the bay a wonderful experience. We saw lots of colorful fish swimming with us as the waves gently tossed us around. There was even a large sea turtle near us...but we did not swim out that far to see him. But there will be other trips to snorle. We have only just begun this new hobbie.

We are off to bed early tonight so that we can drive at 4am to the top of the volcano for sunrise and breakfast.

Few other wonderful tid bits: We are planning a Wednesday evening program in a parishioner's home on the various perspective of the Episcopal church with Q&A on some of the things going on particularly in Virginia at the moment. We are also planning a sunset cruise on a yacht in Lahaina hopefully including some of our friends from Holy Innocents. Never a dull moment here in Hawaii.

Sending you all love and prayers....continuing to pray for Barbara Houston. Could someone e-mail me to let me know how she is doing. Mahalo.

Aloha. K+
